motif
that
was
created
by
the
artist.
The
design
was
drawn
by
hand
with
pen
and
ink
and
repeated
using
vellum
paper
to
create
Strip
Patterns.
The
Trim
6
design
reminds
me
of
my
visit
to
Ghana,
Africa.
I
learned
about
geometric
symmetries
in
African
Art.
Repetitive
patterns
that
go
in
one
direction
are
called
Strip
Patterns.
There
are
infinite
translations
for
these
man-made
patterns.
I
decided
to
create
my
own
strip
pattern
in
repeat.
