Silent
Seasons
is
about
the
kind
of
depression
that
artists
often
go
through
but
don’t
always
have
the
space
or
words
to
talk
about.
During
the
pandemic,
many
of
us
found
ourselves
stuck
in
a
quiet,
uncomfortable
space,
feeling
like
we
couldn’t
even
say
how
we
were
truly
feeling.
Exhibits
were
canceled,
our
mental
health
was
tested,
and
isolation
took
a
toll
on
us.
The
lack
of
community,
resources,
and
gatherings
made
it
even
harder
to
find
our
footing.
For
artists,
it
wasn’t
just
missing
out
on
opportunities
—
it
was
a
sudden
and
painful
disconnection
from
everything
that
fuels
us
creatively.
The
shutdowns
didn’t
just
take
away
the
ability
to
make
art,
but
they
took
away
the
very
support
systems
we
needed
to
survive
emotionally.
And
during
all
of
this,
there
was
the
added
weight
of
feeling
like
we
couldn’t
talk
about
it.
We
were
expected
to
keep
pushing
through,
to
keep
up
appearances,
but
the
reality
was
that
many
of
us
were
struggling
in
silence.
Silent
Seasons
reflects
that
isolation
and
the
internal
battles
we
fought
during
those
first
two
years
of
the
pandemic,
when
everything
we
once
depended
on
was
taken
from
us,
leaving
us
to
navigate
the
depths
of
our
emotions
and
our
art
in
solitude.
